Good evening everyone another vacation day in the can! Spent the day checking out the lake and the house we rented here for our summer vacation:rolleyes: go figure? This is pretty nice but you are in the middle of no where!
Headed out for the daughters house tomorrow before we find our way home. Need to see the granddaughter! :D
This was an interesting type of vacation and I'm glad I didn't bring the Motorhome! ;) Liked staying in hotels for a change and they gave us some good deals because we were still out of season!
We've seen a lot of things on some of these back roads we wouldn't have seen otherwise and that's what I like getting off the beaten path.
We ate a fantastic meal in an old train station tonight, it was great and we just missed the train!

vonn, I even had two of these in a glass! ;)

We're still cool and rainy here.
Weather's gotta break at some time.

We went to our doctor today.
Since my ears are still ringin' 7 months after the collision, chances are they're gonna keep ringing and I just have to deal with it.
My wife's puffy knee will probably be a life long thing too. Sometimes it'll be better and sometimes it'll be worse. She'll just have to deal with it.

Halfway up Gibraltar. Man that's a big rock. To my right is my son, SSGT RAL III, to my left is my dear sweet Mrs. and in front is SGT Matt T. good friend of ours. Those two young men will be back overseas with their Uncle Sam in month or so and that is the reason we are spending this trip with them. Once our son leaves, it'll be a year before we see him again.

Far right is my new CCW piece.....anyone know if i can pocket carry that?

I couldn't make it out, which was the Rock?
The big guy standing or that large grey thing.
:D:D
Thank the boys for us old guys and gals and tell
them we appreciate their service and commitment.
Prayers for a safe deployment.

BTW, did you check for a S&W stamping on the
pocket piece at right? Did it have CTG. on it ???

Good morning all and Happy Thursday!
Page 932 is not opening because that picture of Slim Witman looks evil, first thing you see when you try to open! That's an evil looking person! :D

Hope everyone is off to a great start, it's cloudy and overcast in the part of Virginia I'm in and I don't know where that's at? Must be a secret location so the hordes can't find me! :D

EPIC. I get 3 days off from work due to "shingles." Supposed to be like dying; I got a spot the size of a quarter under my right "man-boob" not much else. Upside; got 10 guns and 50 lb ammo for shooting in the morning. I hope the other 3 guys bring something but hey I'm making lemonade from this lemon.
Back to regularly scheduled program. Joe

Wow... cheated... drifted... never saw another S&W forum topic except drift...
I'm beat. Sorry Rusty for the flashback.
Candi and the son-in-law... still pulling for you guys.
Big Gun Robert, good luck to those fine men on their way.

As always good stuff from a great bunch.

Wanna see 2,700 hp under 15 - 20 feet of raw wastewater?
Didn't think so.
Helluva thing to find first thing on the shift, glad the lights came on when they did... still took 3-4 seconds to process.

Too good not to share.
I reached the superintendent, showed him and he laughed... what can you do?
Good guy, said go grab some 5 gal. buckets.

Squirrels and power lines... utility power didn't transfer, only one generator started and quickly overloaded. Down about 20 minutes with one valve failed on open and the rest? Lots of people with hoses including yours truly.

I have tried to keep my own comments about Homer's diary of the events on the USS Yolo to a minimum. I feel compelled to comment on today's entry. My father was Officer Of the Deck on Yolo when the attack on the New Mexico occurred. I will not try to explain what he told me of the events other than it was a battle to the death. Those that know the feeling will understand.

May 12, 1945

...This evening a totally unexpected GQ was signaled. Two undetected Oscars approached Hagushi, circled the anchorage, selected as their target the battleship New Mexico anchored within 100 yards of Yolo, and then with machine guns blazing attacked in screaming dives from a high altitude. The first Oscar was hit by AA and plunged in the sea but its bomb exploded making the BB's stack look like a giant blowtorch. The second, al¬though hit, crashed New Mexico's sun deck and island destroying most of the AA battery concentrated there. Casualties were heavy with 54 killed and 119 wounded. Other enemy were in the area until 2200. Later the Japanese indicated that on May 10-12 Kikusui VI was launched. Of the approximately 300 planes involved some 150 were kamikazes.

More proof we need to step up the fight against the squirrel terrorists! They probably had something to do with the flooding here in Houston! At least we have seen the tactics they intend to use. Need to restock on 22 pellets right away.
