Tattoos? Got two!!

I don't have any BUT my granddaughter has one on her ankle of her horse that had to be put down. Also has a SNOOPY on her solder blade for her grandmother who also passed away . They mean something to her and she cherishes them both.I have been thinking about getting one At 75 who cares what you do?

Well, here is what I've had done. The bar and shield came out nice as far as I am concerned. The horse came out better than expected. Everything is not as it seems and things are hidden. The healing process will be interesting over the next few weeks. I've been told to come in for a check-up/touch-up in three weeks. Sorry about the saranwrap. I can tell that there will be more to come. The artist has been in the business for 21 years and has a very clean studio and excellent professional hygene.

Glad ya went and did it. Unforunately, you've started down the road to the tattoo addiction.
The black outline horse looks pretty cool, what part of your body is it on?

When I was in the Navy all my friends had tatoos. I thought about getting one, but could not decide from a dolphin, a shark, or the swan song emblem from Led Zepplin. I dont have any and do not regret my choice

Dutchess

snubbyfan, I got the horse on my left upper chest. Here is a better pic. of the horse (Dutchess). I just pulled up the shirt to get the pic. I've already got an idea for what is next. They are already healing nicely.

I've known some folks with tats.
1972 Basic Training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. Several of the guys got a bit tipsey, well plumb drunk actually, and hit a local tattoo parlor. I wonder what they're thinking now that they're pushing 60 with a tat of Speedy Gonzalas on their shoulder.

Good friend of mine is part indian. Has a pair of crossed war lances on his left forearm. Simple, yet elegant and very well done. On the right forearm he has three intertwined hearts with the names of his wife and two daughters.

In my much younger days I knew a young lady who was a ....um, dancer. She had a huge Bird of Paridise ( the bird, not the flower) down the left side of her back. The crown feathers were at the top of the shoulder and the tip of the tail feathers ended just below her buttock. At the time I thought it was the most beautiful tattoo I'd ever seen. ;)

But the ones that really take the cake happened when I was at a shooting event back in 2000. It started as a joke, then turned into a dare and ended when two of the ladies went into town and had RKBA tattooed in huge letters across their bottoms.
(RKlBA)

As for myself, well over the years I've put too many marks on my hide by accident that I have no deside to add any more on purpose.

In the Navy for 20 years, been riding bikes all my life, Harleys since 1980...

...and no tattoos.

I have considered a black line drawing of our departed mutt Shovelhead and an "In Memory of.." line on my shoulder blade. He was a great dog, the kind that comes along once in your lifetime if you are really lucky. We said goodbye in July of '04 and we still grieve for him.

Maybe paw prints or something else dog related.

Hey Fish, I know what you mean about Shovelhead. I had to put Hoss down a few years ago and he was the once in your lifetime dog. His collar stays in the truck so he always goes where I do. Grayfox, care to share about RKIBA? I darn near laughed myself into pains 'til I read "the bird, not the flower". I'll not type where me mind was headed (well, arrived at), but for a second, I thought you two was REALLY aquainted with your observation! LOL-----hope that don't get me in hot water with the mods.......

Glad you are on the way. The research into artistic quality and hygiene are priceless, and as noted, good ink ain't cheap; cheap ain't good. I have 5, all covered by short sleeve shirts (mostly; one is somewhat exposed but not easy to see and understand without a bit of time).

The first (upper left arm) was a rott head surrounded by the words "Life's Short" on top, and "Bite hard" on the bottom. The next (upper right arm) was a shark with a turned head and blood trail, surrounded by the 2 bar admission dates. Below the rott head is a scale of justice copied from the state prosecutor's association web page and surrounded by "RPC 3.8" and "Do Justice" in a scroll (RPC 3.8 is a reference to Rule of Professional Conduct 3.8, the special obligations of a prosecutor). On the right arm below the shark is an anniversary tat my wife and I got together, a heard with our initials and a rottie head peeking over.

The last is 2 words, one on each tricep, displaying a phrase familiar to military and LE and used with vigor by R. Lee Ermey in the opening scene of Full Metal Jacket. The left tricep has 6 letters that will get * out on this forum, and the right has "yourself". ;) They are in military stencil style, all black. It is a bit of a joke at work; I can tap my arms as a message to other attorneys that have made an error, or make references of other subtle nature ("counsel, do I need to wear short sleeves to court as a refresher?"), that kind of thing. :D

I am considering, for after retirement, a knuckle tat on each hand, one with "FYVM", and the other with "NMFP", for phrases I have been known to use to express my compassion or lack thereof.

My first tattoo was the same style as my brothers and my sister was supposed to get. Second one I thought of for over 2 years before i got it. I had the location size colors everything picked out but waited and that's what you should do, remember it's permanent make sure you like it before you get it.

I'll get some ink when I just become a number in Big Stir; until then, I'll remain tat free.

In 48 years of medicine I saw many tattoos, lots of bad ones and a lot of regrets. My favorite was a young woman, who,I suppose enjoyed living in a Navy town.on her symphysis or lower abdomen was a Battleship sinking out of sight with the inscription "Sailor's Graveyard".On the left thigh a cherry with "here's mine -where's yours",and on the right thigh "Pay As You Enter"

I really like hunting & dogs.

I have been thinking, for my first tattoo, I should get a hound dog on one cheek & a rabbit going in the hole :)

72 & counting, so far I've not been drunk enough!

Life has only one entrance and one exit.

Ya like em, get em.
Enjoy Gents.

OK Boss

And to think, I thought it was ......

A base-excited single-degree-of-freedom system. Used to model vibration in machinery caused by floor vibration. Actually, come to think of it, you can't have it. It's mine, it's unique. :D

Hieroglyphics for "This space for rent".....?
